INDIANAPOLIS -- The Butler volleyball team will compete in the 2016 Hawkeye Classic this weekend. The tournament format will feature your Bulldogs and the host Iowa Hawkeyes along with the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, Arizona State Sun Devils and the Western Illinois Leathernecks.

Taylor Takeda were named to the Utah Classic All-Tournament Team
- Logan notched 29 kills for BU in the season opener, just four shy of the school record

Head Coach Sharon Clark
Sharon Clark is entering her 17th season as the head coach of the Butler women's volleyball program. Clark reached her highest win total with the program in 2013 when she guided the team to a 24-8 overall record. During her coaching tenure, Clark has delivered ten winning seasons, reaching the 20-win plateau five times.

Butler Comes Back to Win at EIU
Butler played at EIU on Tuesday night and had to fight back from a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Panthers 3-2.
Anna Logan came up huge in the victory with a team-high 22 kills to go along with 10 digs.
Whitney Beck also posted a double-double while setter
Makayla Ferguson impacted the action with a team-high 48 assists.

Beck Dominant Against Eastern Illinois

Whitney Beck has gotten off to a great start this season and it continued Tuesday night. Beck recorded her first double-double of the season with 18 kills and 14 digs at EIU. She has reached a double-digit kill count in every game this season and is currently second on the team in the category with 55 total.

Newcomer Contributing Early
Brooke Gregory has been an impact player for Butler through the first four matches of the season. The true freshman is one of four BU players to see action in all 18 sets this year. She has contributed with 27 kills, 15 digs and 10 blocks. She ranks fourth on the team in kills and is tied for second in blocks.

BU Outshining Opponents on Offense
Butler has more kills, attacks, assists and service aces than their opponents through the first four matches of the season. The fast start has BU ranked in the top 100 nationally in three of the four offensive categories.

Logan Lands on BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Anna Logan was sensational for Butler last weekend in the Utah Classic. The sophomore recorded a career-high 29 kills in the five-set match against Gonzaga and followed that effort with 22 more kills in the win over Idaho State. In total, Logan recorded 67 kills over opening weekend, 10 more than any other player in the BIG EAST Conference. Her 5.15 kills per set average is also tops in the conference after three games (8/29).

Butler will face three different BIG EAST opponents on the BIG EAST Digital Network this season. The first broadcast will be at Hinkle Fieldhouse when the 'Dawgs host the Providence Friars on Sept. 30. BU will return to the platform on Oct. 14 when they host the Villanova Wildcats. The final match to be aired on BEDN will put Butler up against Xavier on Oct. 27.

Hinkle Fieldhouse to Host BIG EAST Championship
The 2016 BIG EAST Championship Tournament will be held at Hinkle Fieldhouse this year with the top four teams in the league standings making up the field. The semi-finals are slated for Nov. 25 with the championship to follow on Nov. 26.
