The Bulldogs took full control of the match with two more goals towards the tail end of the first half.
Gabrielle Lemkuil came up with her first goal of the year at the 36:38 mark off an assist from
Jamison Midgley.
Roughly five minutes later the Bulldogs would find the back of the net again, this time with
Halle Stelbasky taking a pass from Kashimoto. Stelbasky buried home her second goal of the season, each of which have been recorded at the Butler Bowl.
"We knew we would be able to play some entry balls to our forwards tonight due to the way that IUPUI lined up,"
Tari St. John stated after the match. "I thought our forwards did a great job of executing the game plan."
Time of possession heavily favored the home team with Butler taking 21 total shots compared to seven for the Jags. Only one IUPUI shot was on goal while the 'Dawgs ended the contest with 11.
Each team played two keepers in the contest with
Hannah Luedtke and
Madison Card splitting time for Butler. Luedtke got the start and finished the match with one save in 45 minutes of action. Card took over for the final 45 minutes.
"Hannah has been great for us this year," St. John added. "Her work-rate in practice is just phenomenal."
Butler will return to action with a road match at Evansville on Sunday. The game will stream live on ESPN 3 at 1 PM.
