Logan Lands on BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
In a 2-2 week for Butler, Logan boasted two double-doubles and two 20+ kill matches. She was second in the league in points per set (5.12), while adding 4.56 kills/set, 2.69 digs/set and a .291 attack percentage. Among BIG EAST players this week, she posted match-highs of 21 kills in three sets (Sept. 3 vs. Western Ill.), 22.0 points in three sets (Sept. 3 vs. Western Ill.) and 28.0 points in five sets (Aug. 30 vs. Eastern Ill.).

Oakland Holds Off Butler 3-2
The Bulldogs took a 3-2 loss to Oakland in the first match of the 2016 Hawkeye Classic (21-25, 27-25, 17-25, 25-22, 15-13). The Golden Grizzlies took a commanding 14-5 lead in the fifth and final set only to see Butler get within a point at 14-13. Oakland took a timeout to momentarily halt the scoring spree and the strategy paid off with Butler committing a serving error to ice the Oakland victory.

Arizona State Beats Butler 3-2
A late scoring run from Arizona State would give the Sun Devils a 3-2 victory over Butler (25-16, 19-25, 25-20, 22-25, 15-8). The two evenly matched teams came together at 8-8 in the fifth set, but Halle Johnson would break the tie by serving the final six points of the game for ASU allowing the Sun Devils to come out victorious.

Butler Sweeps Iowa 3-0
The Bulldogs were the only team to defeat Iowa in the Hawkeye Classic and they did it in style by recording a 3-0 sweep (27-25, 25-20, 25-22).
Anna Logan posted a double-double with a team-high 15 kills to go along with her team-high 13 digs.
Whitney Beck was in the box score with 11 kills while
Bri Lilly posted nine. All three players helped the 'Dawgs post a .331 attack percentage.

Butler Shuts Out Western Illinois
The Bulldogs defeated Western Illinois 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-16).
Anna Logan recorded a match-high 21 kills against WIU, posting a .613 attack percentage. She nearly equaled the Leathernecks total kill count of 23. Butler set the tone in the opening set by ending the game on a 16-1 scoring run.

Coming In Hot
As a team, Butler hit .331 vs. Iowa and followed that effort with a season-high .354 attack percentage in the win vs. Western Illinois.

Up Next
The Bulldogs will host the Butler Classic this weekend at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The tournament field includes Tennessee State, Murray State and Wright State. Three games will be played on Friday, Sept. 9 with two additional games slated for Saturday, Sept. 10. Butler will face Tennessee State (11 AM) and Murray State (6 PM) on Friday and end the tournament with a night match vs. Wright State at 6 PM on Saturday.
