Butler dropped its spring dual match opener at Purdue Saturday morning. The host Boilermakers took a 7-0 decision at the Basham Courts of the Schwartz Tennis Center.

After capturing the doubles point, the Boilermakers won six singles matches in straight sets.

Rachel Sutton battled Purdue's Andjela Djokovic to a 6-4, 6-4 match at the No. 2 singles spot. Bailey Padget nearly pulled out the opening set at No. 1 singles to Nicole Robinson before falling 7-5, 6-0.

The Bulldogs return to action Saturday, Jan. 21, traveling to Bloomington, Ind., for a 4 p.m. match with Indiana.
