A number of close matches and a win by Rachel Sutton on the third court highlighted Butler's effort Sunday afternoon against Wright State. The host Raiders posted a 6-1 win at the South Regency Tennis Center.

Sutton used three sets to defeat Vanessa Madrigal at No. 3 singles. Bailey Padgett, playing No. 1 singles for the Bulldogs, pushed Karoline Haller to two tiebreakers.

Wright State opened up a 1-0 lead in the match by sweeping the doubles point.

The Bulldogs return to action Friday at 3 p.m., hosting Illinois State in Indianapolis.
