10 Wins
Butler's 1-0 victory on Sunday against St. John's pushed their overall win total to 10. The Bulldogs have now reached double digits in the win column in five of the last six seasons.
'Dawgs Set New School Records
Butler set a new team record on Sunday by recording a 1-0 win over the Red Storm. The outcome gave BU 12 total shutouts on the year breaking the old program record of 11 set by the 2012 team. The Bulldogs are also on their way to breaking the team record for fewest goals allowed in a single-season. The 2012 club only allowed 15 goals, but with just four games left in the regular season, the current Bulldog team has only allowed two.
The Bulldogs also set two single-match records this year in their 10-0 win over Chicago State. BU recorded 10 assists in the victory, helping them reach 30 points in the match. 10 assists broke the old record of eight set by the 2008 team when they faced Detroit. The old points record came from the 1991 season when BU posted 29 points in a match against Bellarmine.
Doege Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Doege had a hand in two shutouts last week as the Bulldogs notched their program-record 12th clean sheet of the season. Doege totaled 110 minutes of scoreless action in a draw with Xavier and a 1-0 win over St. John's. The freshman was credited with a pair of saves against the Musketeers, playing the final 65 minutes of the contest.
Leonard Lands On BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Leonard helped the Bulldogs to a pair of shutouts last week to set a program record for single-season clean sheets with 12. RV Butler limited Xavier and St. John's to a combined three shots on net, outshooting both foes on the week.
Monaghan Makes the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Monaghan scored the game-winning goal against St. John's on Sunday afternoon to lift Butler to victory. Her fifth goal of the season came in the closing seconds of the first half. Monaghan now leads the team in goals (5), assists (5), and points (15).
