The Butler volleyball team recorded another BIG EAST win tonight, sweeping Xavier 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-23). The Bulldogs haven't lost a game since Oct. 13 and have won six straight BIG EAST matches.

The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 6-2 lead on the Musketeers led by an Anna Logan kill and ace. Strong play by Brooke Gregory also led the Bulldogs in the first set with four kills on just five attempts. Butler increased their lead to 10-5, forcing Xavier to call their first timeout. The Bulldogs held steady through the rest of the set, winning 25-19.

The Musketeers came out strong the second set, taking their first lead of the match 6-5. The Bulldogs quickly took the lead back with a kill each from Bri Lilly and Whitney Beck. Butler continued to extend their lead to 18-10, capped off with a kill by Natalie Ravenell. The Musketeers fight back with a 5-0 scoring run with Laura Grossman serving, but a kill by Lilly breaks the run. Bulldogs take the second set 25-18.

Xavier took an early 4-1 lead in the third set, but a block by Gregory ends the scoring run for the Musketeers. Xavier continued to battle, taking a 13-10 lead over the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs rallied to tie the score 17-17. Lilly and Ravenell led the comeback for the Bulldogs with a kill each. The Bulldogs then take the lead 21-20 with a block by Logan.
Butler maintains their lead and completes the sweep of Xavier, winning the third set 25-23.

Bri Lilly and Anna Logan led the attack for the Bulldogs. Lilly tallied 10 kills with five blocks. Logan followed with eight kills and an attack percentage of .368. Defensively, Makayla
Ferguson posted 30 assists and eight digs.

For the Musketeers, Audrey Adams led the attack with nine kills and an attack percentage of .429, followed by Samantha Foti with nine kills and an attack percentage of .286. Defensively, Mckena Estes posted 16 assists and seven digs.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. against BIG EAST opponent Providence.
