• Barry Collier's first game as head coach at Butler came against WIU on Nov. 25, 1989. WIU won, 82-65. Thad Matta was a captain on that Butler team. Collier would then win 196 games in 11 seasons and now serves at BU's Director of Athletics.
• Butler has won 42 consecutive home games against non-conference opponents. The streak dates back to a loss to Pittsburgh in the 2012 College Basketball Invitational (CBI). That current streak trails only Duke (138) and Arizona (46) nationally. (Duke plays Wednesday night.)

Mike Freeman earned his master's degree from WIU in 2004.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME: Butler ran its record to 7-0 this season at Hinkle Fieldhouse, topping Morehead State, 85-69, Tuesday night. In the seven home wins, the Bulldogs are averaging 83.6 points per game while shooting 53.4 percent from the field. Butler has reached 80 points in six of the seven contests. Butler is 2-3 away from its home court, averaging 63.6 ppg on 38-percent shooting.
THAT'S OFFENSIVE: Senior
Kelan Martin had 20 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday night against Morehead State. All 20 of his points came in a 12-minute stretch that spanned the halftime break. In doing so, he went over 1,500 career points.
For Martin this season, it was his sixth 20-point game, fourth double-double, and seventh time leading the Bulldogs in scoring.
SPREADING THE WEALTH: Butler had a season-best 21 assists Tuesday night (on 31 made field goals).
Aaron Thompson led the Bulldogs with five assists (against no turnovers), while
Kelan Martin tied his career-high with four assists. Thompson now has four or more assists in eight of his 12 career games.
That ball movement led to five Bulldogs scoring in double figures Tuesday night, the second time that has happened this season.
AFTER THE BREAK: Butler scored 52 points in the second half Tuesday, a season-best for the Bulldogs. Butler shot 63 percent from the field in those 20 minutes, including hitting seven of 13 attempts from behind the arc.
'PAULING' OUT: Paul Jorgensen tied his career-high with 16 points Tuesday night against Morehead State. All 16 came in the second half. Jorgensen is third on the team in scoring at 11.3 points per game. He has reached double figures in nine games so far this season after hitting the mark only eight times in 73 career games at George Washington before transferring to Butler.
Jorgensen has hit double figures in seven straight games, knocking down 49 percent of his three-point attempts (22-45) over that stretch.
COLLECTING THE CAROMS: Butler out-rebounded Morehead State, 42-24, Tuesday night. The +18 rebounding margin was Butler's best of the season. Butler has out-rebounded its opponent eight times this season, including the last five games.
In addition to Kelan Martin's 10 rebounds Tuesday night, Kamar Baldwin pulled down a season-best eight boards.
B-M(EN)-O-C: Butler posts
Tyler Wideman and
Nate Fowler combined to make 10 of their 11 attempts from the field against Morehead State. The duo registered 26 points. Those 26 points came in only a combined 31 minutes of play. Wideman leads the team with a 69-percent field goal percentage on the season; Fowler is shooting 60 percent.
Wideman is second in the BIG EAST in field goal percentage.
GRAB AND GO: Morehead State committed only 12 turnovers Tuesday night, but seven of those were steals by the Butler defense. The Bulldogs turned those 12 turnovers into 18 points. Butler's average of 7.4 steals per game is second in the BIG EAST, while the team's +3.3 turnover margin ranks third in the conference.
Kamar Baldwin's average of 2.0 steals per game is fourth in the BIG EAST. Kelan Martin has had three steals in each of the last three games.
DAWGS GO AS THEY GO: Tyler Wideman and
Paul Jorgensen combine to average 25.1 points per game on 60.4-percent shooting in Butler's nine wins. The duo are scoring a combined 10.0 points per game on 35-percent shooting in the team's three losses.
THAT'S THE RECIPE: The Bulldogs are undefeated when any of the following occur: leading at halftime (8-0), shooting a better percentage from the field than their opponent (7-0), or shooting 50 percent or better from the field (7-0).
SHARING IS CARING: Paul Jorgensen is third on the team in assists (30), and has only committed eight turnovers on the season. Kamar Baldwin has 32 assists through 12 games after handing out only 50 assists in 34 games last season.
