CLINTON, S.C. – The Butler lacrosse team took a 12-5 loss at Presbyterian College on Friday afternoon to move their overall record to 1-6. The Bulldogs scored two goals in the first half and three in the second to end the match with five.
Madison Christian and
Journey Fischbeck tied for the team lead with two goals each. The scoring was rounded out by
Taylor Kinn who came off the bench for a score.
The Blue Hose opened up a 3-0 lead before Butler's first goal. Christian took a free position shot and cut into the lead with her eighth goal of the season. BU's second goal of the opening 30 minutes would be provided by Fischbeck, unassisted at 15:30.
The 'Dawgs faced an 8-2 deficit at the half and would eventually fall down to 12-3. Christian took a feed from
Ashley Lizzi to score near the midway point of the second stanza. The last two goals would come in the closing minutes with Fischbeck scoring off the
Sydney Pattison assist and Kinn taking a pass from
Haley Hallenbeck.
Butler will return to action with a home match at Varsity Field on March 16 when they host Central Michigan at 4 PM.
