The Bulldogs will look to rebound this week after dropping several games in Edwardsville, Ill., over the weekend.
Butler lost contests with Northern Kentucky and Ball State Saturday and then fell to Toledo Sunday to close weekend action in an event hosted by SIUE. Butler is now 11-15 on the season.
Northern Kentucky was able to push across two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to turn a 1-1 game into a 5-1 win.
Sarah Dixon singled in Sammy Anderson for Butler's run.
Alyssa Garcia had two of the Bulldogs' seven hits.
Kacey Starwalt got the start and allowed only one run in three innings.
Kaitlin Doud came on in relief, allowing the final four runs (three earned) to take the loss.
Ball State scored four runs in the first and three runs in the sixth in their 7-1 decision over Butler. Once again it was Dixon who had the RBI for the Bulldogs. Butler scored its run in the seventh inning.
???????Doud went the distance in the game, allowing only three earned runs (seven total runs). Aeshia Miles got the win for Ball State, allowing five Butler hits in seven innings.
Maggie MacBeth had two hits for the Bulldogs.
Sunday's game was the closest of the weekend with the Bulldogs falling, 4-3, to Toledo. Doud once again pitched the bulk of the innings, going 5.1 innings and allowing only an unearned run. She took the loss.
Dixon led off the Butler scoring with a solo home run in the first inning. After Toledo got three runs in the second inning off starter
Gabbi Schnaiter, Butler answered with a
Cheyenne Thompson RBI double in the third.
Toledo pushed across another run in the fifth before Butler put one on the board in the sixth inning on an Anderson RBI single. Butler could not find one more run in the 4-3 loss.

The Bulldogs return to action Tuesday, traveling to Ball State. Butler opens the home portion of its schedule this weekend against DePaul.Â
