INDIANAPOLIS – The final match of the 2017 Bulldog Brawl went to the Eastern Michigan Eagles as they defeated the Bulldogs three sets to one (15-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-23). Butler and Oakland each ended the weekend with 3-1 overall records, Eastern Michigan went 2-2 and both Stony Brook and Robert Morris went 1-3.
BU had two players post a double-double in the setback to Eastern Michigan.
Whitney Beck went down as the team leader with 13 kills and 14 digs. She had a great all-around game that also included five assists and two blocks.
Natalie Ravenell was also a driving force for BU going into the box score with 11 kills and 10 digs.
Bri Lilly made her season debut Saturday night and responded with 11 kills and six blocks.
Ravenell was one of three Bulldogs to make the All-Tournament Team. She was joined by fellow freshman
Rachel Klitzing and the Tournament MVP,
Makayla Ferguson.
Ferguson recorded a match-high 40 assists against the Eagles with seven digs and a service ace. Klitzing was also solid with five kills and three blocks.
