Highlighted by a strong second day, Butler posted an impressive performance at the Western Michigan/Vredevelt Invitational over the weekend in Kalamazoo, Mich.

In doubles play, the teams of
Mason Dragos and
Michael Dickson, and
Adrian Mag and
Lope Adelakun went 3-0 on the weekend, posting wins over duos from Illinois State, Western Michigan and the University of Chicago.
Aviv Ben Shabat and
Ari Gerstein went 2-1 in doubles play.

"I was glad to see our solid doubles play continue this weekend," said coach Parker Ross. "Our effort was not good enough in singles the first day, but I was glad the guys responded with some good wins on day two. We definitely made progress this weekend despite dropping several winnable matches."

Adelakun, Gerstein and
Sam Sullivan each registered wins in singles play Saturday against Western Michigan's line-up. On Saturday, Ben Shabat won a three-set match against Illinois State's Andreas Boers, while Mag and Gerstein picked up singles wins over players from Chicago. Sullivan's Saturday singles win came over Xavier's Michael Lee.
In Sunday's singles play, Butler went 5-3 in matches against BIG EAST rival Xavier. Dickson, Dragos, and Ben Shabat picked up straight-set wins. Gerstein and Adelakun needed a third-set match tiebreaker to post their wins.
The Bulldogs will send four players to the ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Play begins Saturday.
