Scouting DePaul
The Blue Demons have won five of their last seven games after starting the year 2-6. They most recently went 1-2 against BIG EAST opponents with a 3-2 win over St. John's mixed in with losses to Xavier (2-3) and Seton Hall (0-3). DePaul's top weapon is Brittany Maxwell. The 6-3 junior leads the team in kills (192), blocks (41) and service aces (17). Caitlyn Coffey and Claire Anderson also impact matches at the net with 129 and 182 kills respectively. Coffey leads the team in blocks with 53 and also holds the highest attack percentage on the squad (.336).

About Georgetown
The Hoyas head into the weekend with a 6-8 overall record. They got off to a hot start by winning six of their first eight matches of the season, but recent struggles have Georgetown hanging onto a six-match losing streak. Symone Speech is the focal point of the starting lineup. The 6-3 junior leads the team with 203 kills, and 46 blocks. Paige McKnight will also impact the outcome. Georgetown's starting setter has 508 assists, 134 digs, 52 kills, 20 blocks and 12 service aces on the year.

Scouting Villanova
The Wildcats will host Xavier on Friday night before facing the Bulldogs on Saturday. They are currently 7-6 overall with an 0-2 record in BIG EAST action. Amanda Pederseon-Henry leads the team in kills (121) and blocks (31). Setter Emma Decker is averaging 10.74 assists per set and libero Regan Lough heads into the weekend averaging just under four digs per set. Lough is also the team leader in service aces with 16.

Klitzing Lands ON BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Klitzing had an impressive week for the 1-1 Bulldogs with 3.14 points and 2.57 kills per set behind .484 hitting accompanied by 1.14 blocks per set. In the 3-1 win over travel-partner Xavier, Klitzing had 15 kills, six blocks. She also hit .667, a league match-high for the week and a BU school record for a four-set match.

51-for-51
Two of the four Bulldogs to play in all 51 sets this year are true freshmen. Natalie Ravenell and Rachel Klitzing join Brooke Gregory and Makayla Ferguson as players on the roster that have not missed a set.

Bulldogs Lead BIG EAST in Blocks
The Bulldogs average 2.99 blocks per set as a team, the highest average of any BIG EAST school. Their 152 total blocks rank second in the conference. They trail the St. John's Red Storm by six in that category. The top two Bulldogs defending the net include Rachel Klitzing and Bri Lilly. Klitzing leads the club with 74 blocks (1.45 b/s), and Lilly is second on the team with 41 (1.37 b/s). Klitzing holds the top spot in the conference for most blocks in a single-match. She came up with 14 blocks (2-12) vs. Robert Morris on Aug. 26. Her 12 block assists in a five-set match also goes down as a school record.

Klitzing with the Kill
Rachel Klitzing recorded a career-high 15 kills in the 3-1 victory at Xavier. She came up with 15 kills on just 21 attempts (one error) to post a .667 attack percentage, the highest percentage recorded by any player in the BIG EAST this season and the highest hitting percentage by an individual in a four-set match in Butler volleyball history. The previous record was set by Sue Morris during the 1984 season. Morris recorded 15 kills off 23 attempts with no errors against IUPUI (.652).

Winning Recipe
Butler won seven-straight games during the month of September to post the fourth longest winning streak under the direction of head coach Sharon Clark. The 2004 team went 10-0, the 2016 squad went 9-0 and the 2010 team went 8-0.

Up Next
Butler will return to Hinkle Fieldhouse next weekend with a pair of home matches against conference opponents. The 'Dawgs will host St. John's on Friday, Oct. 6 and then face off against the Seton Hall Pirates on Saturday. Each contest will begin at 6 PM and stream free of charge on Facebook Live.
