OMAHA, Neb. – The #10 Creighton Bluejays (18-4, 10-0) recorded a 3-0 home win against Butler (7-16, 4-7) on Saturday night (25-11, 25-15, 25-8). The Bulldogs had pushed the Bluejays to five sets in the previous three meetings.
Jaali Winters led Creighton to victory with a match-high 13 kills. Butler was limited to just 21 total kills.
Brooke Gregory and
Natalie Ravenell shared the team lead with six each.
Bri Lilly was close behind with five.
Lilly led Butler with four blocks. Ravenell was the only other Bulldog with multiple blocks in the match. She finished the contest with three.
Megan Ramseyer was the setter for BU at #10 Creighton. She ended the night with 19 assists, two digs, two kills and a block.
Melody Davidson and
Rillian Dennis rounded out the BU kill total with one each.
Butler's lone service ace belonged to
Emma Milstead. She was one of four Bulldogs to post two digs.
Taylor Takeda would led the group with six digs and
Elizabeth LaBue would add three.
Butler will return to action next weekend with home matches at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The 'Dawgs will host St. John's on Friday night and bring Seton Hall in for a Saturday contest. Each match will begin at 6 PM.
