@ButlerSoftball Drops Two Saturday Games at Texas A&M Invitational

Butler dropped a pair of games Saturday at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas. The Bulldogs lost to Iowa and Tulsa.

The Bulldogs enter Sunday's final game of the five-contest weekend with a 2-7 record.

Butler dropped the nightcap, 2-1, to Tulsa. Freshman Alyssa Graves had a strong performance in the circle, but took the loss. Graves allowed seven hits and three walks. She struck out four.

Butler's run came in the bottom of the first. Sarah Dixon doubled to left center with one out and scored on a two-out single by Alyssa Lach. Graves held the Golden Hurricanes without a run until the fifth inning when Tulsa pushed across a single run. That 1-1 tie lasted until the seventh inning.

Back-to-back doubles by Tulsa scored the game-winning run in the top half of the inning. In the bottom half, a bunt single and a walk put runners at first and second with two outs before the Bulldogs' rally was halted.

Dixon, Jenna Foreman and Maddie Moore each had two hits for the Bulldogs. Butler had eight hits as a team.

Butler dropped an 8-0 result to Iowa Saturday, one day after blanking the Hawkeyes in the Bulldogs' first game in Texas. Saturday's game ended in five innings.

The Bulldogs committed five errors, which contributed to five unearned runs by Iowa. The Hawkeyes scored three runs in each of the first two innings to go along with two runs in the fifth.

The Bulldogs had three hits in the game. Kaitlin Doud took the loss for Butler.

Butler closes out its trip to College Station with a match-up against the host Aggies Sunday at 12:15 p.m. (Central). The Bulldogs and Texas A&M met on Friday, a 10-1 Aggies win. The game will be streamed through the WatchESPN app (cable subscription verification might be required) and live stats will be available.
