The Butler women's lacrosse team dropped a 20-4 decision to Louisville on Thursday afternoon. The Bulldogs now move to 0-2 on the season.
The Cardinals scored their first goal of the game at the 21:11 minute mark in the first half. From there, they took a 6-0 lead until
Journey Fischbeck scored her first goal of the season off of a free position shot with 11:56 to play in the first half.
With Louisville leading 9-1,
Christina Soderquist scored, unassisted, after winning possession from a draw control. Captain
Adilyn Smith scored another goal for the Bulldogs within two minutes to make the score 9-3 with 5:28 to play. Both Soderquist's and Smith's goals were their first of the season.

Haley Hallenbeck scored Butler's final goal of the game right before halftime, marking her first goal of the season. The Bulldogs ended the half trailing the Cardinals 10-4.
The second half was all Louisville, scoring 10 goals in the second half and holding Butler scoreless. The Cardinals are now 3-1 on the season.
The Bulldogs return to action on Feb. 28, traveling to Central Michigan. The match is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
