The Butler lacrosse team fell to Liberty 17-8 Tuesday afternoon. The Bulldogs are now 0-7 on the season, Liberty moves to 5-2 with the victory.
Led by a
Christina Soderquist hat trick, the Bulldog defense couldn't hold off a ten-goal second half by the Flames.
The Bulldogs ended the first half trailing the Flames by one.
Karina Latsko started the scoring for the Bulldogs off an assist from
Ashley Guerra. Guerra would go on to score two goals in the first half, followed by goals from Soderquist (2), and
Morgan Paige.
Liberty began the second half on a 2-0 run before Ashley Lizzi scored off a free position shot. Soderquist scored her third goal of the game with 11 minutes to play. From there, the Flames finished the game on 5-0 run.
Kayla Foster and Brianna Mccafrey led the offense for Liberty, each scoring three goals. Goalkeepers Aubrie Tarris and Katherine Widrick split the game in goal, with Tarris getting the start and win.
The Bulldogs are back in action Thursday, traveling to Washington, D.C. to take on Howard at 1 p.m.
