Coming off their first win this season, the Butler lacrosse team opens BIG EAST play at home on Sunday, taking on Connecticut at Varsity Field. The match is set to begin at Noon.
The Bulldogs beat Howard 16-7 Thursday, with seven different Bulldogs scoring to reach a season-high 16 goals. Freshman

Haley Hallenbeck (12) are the two leading goal-scorers for the Bulldogs and each had four goals in the decision over Howard.
Morgan Paige and
Christina Soderquist are close behind in scoring, each with nine goals. Sophomore
Ashley Lizzi is also a scoring threat for the Bulldogs, she leads the team in assists with five and has three goals on the season.
Defensively,
Mary Davide is tied for the team-lead in ground balls, picking up 13. She has also caused five turnovers. Sophomore goalkeeper
Haley Rayburn picked up her first win Thursday and has made 72 saves this season with a .429 save percentage.

Connecticut is 4-4 this season with wins against Albany, New Hampshire, California, and Fairfield. The Huskies are coming off a 13-12 loss to Ohio State on March 14.
Senior Grace Nolan leads the attack for the Huskies. She has started all eight games and scored 26 goals with 19 assists. Nolan leads the team in points with 45. Caitlin Leary (20), Olivia Miles (15), and Kelsey Catalano (15) are also scoring threats for Connecticut.
Grace Beshlian (4-3) has started seven games in goal for the Huskies, posting a 13.20 goals-against average and a .396 save percentage. Nolan also helps out on the defensive side, picking up 20 ground balls and causing 12 turnovers. Connecticut leads their opponents in both ground balls and caused turnovers this season.
