The Butler lacrosse team took another BIG EAST setback to Temple Saturday morning, falling to the Owls 18-5. The loss moves the Bulldogs to 1-13 and 0-6 in the BIG EAST. Temple is now 8-6 (3-3 BIG EAST) with the win.
A 3-2 Bulldog lead early in the first half wouldn't stand as the Owls outscored the Bulldogs 4-1 to finish the half, and took an 8-4 lead into the second half. Temple held Butler to one goal in the second half and scored 10 of their own to finish off the game.
Temple and Butler traded goals to begin the first half. The Owls struck first, but the Bulldogs answered with a goal from 
Haley Hallenbeck, her 16
th of the season, to put Butler on the board. The Owls put one more in the back of net but the Bulldogs quickly took the lead with goals from 
Ashley Lizzi and Hallenbeck.
From there, Temple would go on a 5-0 run before the Bulldogs scored again. 
Morgan Paige scored the Bulldogs' final goal of the half off a free position attempt to end the Owls scoring run.
It was all Temple the second half, with the Owls scoring 10-straight goals to finish off the Bulldogs. 
Isabella Mandli would score Butler's only goal of the second half with 15 seconds to play.
Hallenbeck finished the game with a team-high two goals. Goalkeeper 
Amanda Rumsey (0-6) received the loss in goal for the Bulldogs.
Toni Yuko led the Owls, scoring a game-high six goals. Meghan Hoffman and Bridget Whitaker each added three.  Maryn Lowell (8-6) got the win in goal for the Owls.
The Bulldogs are back in action on April 18, traveling to Philadelphia, Pa. to take on the Villanova Wildcats. First draw is set for 12:30 p.m. and the game will stream live on BEDN.
