The Butler lacrosse team fell to Villanova Wednesday afternoon as the Wildcats downed the Bulldogs 20-4. Butler falls to 1-14, 0-7 in the BIG EAST. Villanova moves to 7-7, 2-5 in conference play.

The Wildcats jumped out quick on the Bulldogs, scoring 11 straight before Christina Soderquist put Butler on the board. Haley Hallenbeck scored the next two goals for the Bulldogs off an assist from Karina Latsko and a free position attempt. The captain now has 19 goals this season. Villanova would take a 14-3 lead into the half.

A 6-0 run by Villanova in the second half would seal the game for the Wildcats as the Bulldogs did not score until Katelyn Murphy put one in the back of the net with a minute to play.

The Wildcats were led by Katie Comerford and Devon Brown, each with a hat trick. Freshman Olivia Gonsalves received the win in goal.

The Bulldogs are back in action Saturday, hosting the Cincinnati Bearcats. First draw is set for 2 p.m.
