PITTSBURGH – #24 Cal Poly recorded a 3-0 victory over Butler on Saturday afternoon (25-16, 25-16, 25-18). The setback moves Butler to 0-3 at the start of the 2018 season.
Brooke Gregory was the bright spot in the BU rotation with eight kills. She hit .389 by recording her eight kills on 18 swings with just one error.
Bri Lilly also notched eight kills and sophomore
Natalie Ravenell would once again lead the Bulldogs with nine.

Sharon Clark went with a new setter in game three of the season with
Megan Ramseyer taking over for
Maddie Freiwald. Ramseyer was solid with 25 assists, six digs and two blocks in the match.
Emma Milstead lead Butler with 10 digs and
Melody Davidson would go down as the team leader in blocks with five.
#24 Cal Poly was led to victory by Torrey Van Winden and her 14 kills. The Mustangs hit .303 as a team, going over .400 in both sets one and two.
Butler got off to a promising start in the first set. They grabbed a 6-2 edge forcing a Cal Poly timeout, but the score would come together at 11-11 moments later. A 14-14 tie would turn into a 21-14 Cal Poly lead which in turn would give the Mustangs 1-0 lead.
Set two featured another back and forth start, but the Mustangs would go on a 10-4 scoring run to take control of the action.
Momentum stayed with the Mustangs in set three with #24 Cal Poly scoring the first six points of the game. Butler called a timeout and would respond with six-straight points to tie the score. Butler would hang around and view a two-point deficit late at 18-16. The Mustangs would make the final move of the day by scoring six-straight points to reach set point. The final point came off a BU service error.
