INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler volleyball team ended the Top Dawg Challenge with a 1-2 overall record after taking a 3-0 loss to Illinois State in the final match of Saturday's four-match schedule (25-19, 25-15, 25-18). Libero
Elizabeth LaBue was named to the all-tournament team for the Bulldogs.
Illinois State (5-1) won the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. Auburn went 2-1 over the weekend and Eastern Illinois would exit Hinkle Fieldhouse at 0-3.
The final match of the evening featured BU setter
Megan Ramseyer notching 30 assists, four digs, two kills and a block. She set
Bri Lilly up for a team-high nine kills. Lilly doubled up as Butler's blocks leader with six.
Butler only hit .113 as a team with the Redbirds coming in at .258. Tournament MVP Ali Line ended the match with five kills. Illinois State was led by Martin Kaylee with seven.
Brooke Gregory was an impact player for BU vs. Illinois State with seven kills. Newcomer
Shay Horn was also active with six kills.
The 'Dawgs will return to action next weekend by participating in the Arkansas Classic.
