The Bulldogs notched their first win of the spring Saturday afternoon, taking down Valpo 6-1 in Michigan City, Ind. This moves Butler to 2-3 so far in the 2018-19 season. Valpo falls to 1-2.
Sarah Monesmith and
Lauryn Padgett got things going for the Bulldogs, defeating their pair from Valpo 6-1.
Kendal Wilby and
Caroline McAuley clinched the doubles point by forfeit.
The Bulldogs took the match by winning No. 2-4 in singles play. In the No. 2 spot,
Lauryn Padgett defeated Randi Wind 6-1, 7-5.
Sarah Monesmith topped Isabella Schoolcraft in the No. 3 spot, 7-6, 2-6, 10-3.
Nina Bertino also defeated her Valpo counterpart 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 4 spot.
The Bulldogs finish up their weekend tomorrow (Jan. 27) in Chicago vs. the DePaul Blue Demons. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m. CT.
