INDIANAPOLIS – Butler improved to 7-11 overall with a 3-0 sweep over Seton Hall at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs are now 4-2 in the BIG EAST Conference standings.
How It Happened
Butler opened set one on a 4-0 run and would enjoy a 12-4 advantage before Seton Hall called for timeout. BU never trailed in the opener and would cruise to a 25-13 win.
Melody Davidson led the team with four kills. Three other 'Dawgs notched three kills at the start of the night.
Set two heated up with Butler breaking an 11-11 tie to grab a 15-11 edge.
Brooke Gregory had the serve and provided BU with an ace during that stretch. Butler went up 2-0 in the match by ending set two on a 9-1 scoring run.
Elizabeth LaBue capped off the 25-14 win with an ace.
Butler pushed aside a slow start in the third to tie the game at 5-5. The third set started to take form after a 4-0 BU scoring run that moved the scoreboard to 16-10.
Megan Ramseyer went on the attack to get Butler to 20 points. Moments later
Shay Horn delivered an ace to put Butler in the driver's seat. The final point of the match belonged to
Anna Logan giving BU the 25-16 victory.
