@ButlerMBB Welcomes Morehead State to Hinkle Friday Night



The Bulldogs conclude an early homestand, welcoming Morehead State to Hinkle Fieldhouse Friday night. The game is an on-campus match-up as part of the 2019 Hall of Fame Classic. Butler will travel to Kansas City for two games, beginning with a Monday night match-up with Missouri.

THE SERIES: The two programs have met only once previously. That contest was less than two years ago (Dec. 19, 2017) at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Butler won, 85-69. Kelan Martin led the Bulldogs with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Kamar Baldwin had 12 points and eight rebounds. 

• Butler has won 54 consecutive non-conference home games (second-longest active streak nationally behind Duke)
• After being limited due to a rib cartilage injury in his first two games, Kamar Baldwin has scored 50 points in the last two games.
• By committing only 8.0 turnovers per game, Butler is second in the nation in that category.
• Butler has limited its first four opponents to an average of 54.3 points per game, which is 15th nationally.
• Butler's opponents have hit only 23.2 percent from behind the arc this season, the 12th-best defensive effort in the nation.
• Butler's 2.06 assist/turnover ratio is third nationally.
• Butler had a 25-2 advantage on points off turnovers vs. Minnesota.
Aaron Thompson leads the BIG EAST (and is 12th nationally) at 7.3 assists per game.
• Baldwin is up to No. 15 on Butler's all-time scoring list with 1,510 career points.
Bryce Nze had double-doubles in his two career games as a Bulldog. 
Sean McDermott (at 58.8 percent) is 13th nationally in three-point percentage.
• McDermott led Butler with 26 points (10-11 FG; 4-5 3FG) in the Nov. 6 win over IUPUI, one point shy of his career-high.
• In Bryce Golden's first career start, he posted career-highs of 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists vs. IUPUI.
• Butler finished the game against IUPUI with only six available players. 
• The Bulldogs return four of their top six scorers from 2018-19.
• Butler posted a 12-4 record at Hinkle Fieldhouse in 2018-19.
• Twenty-five of Butler's 31 regular season games in 2019-20 are scheduled against power conference opponents.
• Butler has made the postseason in 13 of the last 14 seasons. 
• Thompson's 142 assists in 2018-19 are 10th on Butler's single-season list.
