SCOUTING DAYTON: The Flyers made a statement in the 2019 season opener by knocking off No. 14 Indiana State 42-35. The signature win paved the way for a 7-3 overall record that includes a 5-2 mark against PFL opponents. Dayton's lone non-conference loss came against Duquesne 35-31. The Dukes used a 10-play 75-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter to capture the lead and would eventually hold off a late charge for the win. Dayton would also fall to Stetson and San Diego in PFL play, but the team would respond with three-straight wins over Morehead State, Marist and Drake. Dayton leads the PFL in scoring offense (41.7) and has one of the best defensive players in the league at safety. Brandon Easterling leads FCS football in total tackles per game (12.6) and solo tackles per game (7.2). He was a mid-season addition to the Buck Buchanan Award, which is presented annually by STATS to the top defensive player in FCS football.

Brandon Easterling tied PFL records with three interceptions and a 100-yard pick six in Dayton's 46-29 win at Drake. He was recognized as the STATS FCS National Defensive Player of the Week as well as the PFL Player of the Week.

LAST YEAR VS. DAYTON: The Flyers recorded a 38-28 win at Butler last year. The Bulldogs outscored Dayton 21-17 in the second half, but a 14-0 first quarter deficit was too much to overcome.

Adam Trautman scored three touchdowns vs. Butler last year. This year, he ranks second in the PFL in both receptions per game (6.5) and receiving yards per game (85.9).

ALL-TIME SERIES: Dayton leads the all-time series against Butler 31-12-1. The Flyers have won five-straight meetings dating back to 2014. Butler won 33-30 at Dayton in 2013.

The first-ever meeting between Butler and Dayton was played in 1925. Butler won 10-7 at home.

BEVELHIMER NAMED PFL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Drew Bevelhimer made the most of a second chance, kicking a 38-yard field goal on the final play of the game to give Butler a 24-21 PFL victory against Valparaiso and ownership of the Hoosier Helmet. Butler used two quick strikes and a personal foul to set up Bevelhimer for a 42-yard attempt with two seconds remaining, but his kick fell short. However, Valparaiso was called for offsides and Bevelhimer did not miss on the now 38-yard attempt after time expired. He also converted on each of his three PATs and handled kickoff duties for the Bulldogs.

Bevelhimer has made 45 field goals and 102 extra points in his BU career to account for 237 points. He ranks second all-time at Butler in scoring

FINAL DRIVE: Butler covered 44 yards in just 19 seconds to score the game-winning field goal against Valparaiso.

Butler scored points on three of their final four possessions to beat Valpo.

STANDOUT SENIOR: RB Brad Sznajder ranks 10th at Butler in career rushing yards with 2,036. He needs 97 yards at Dayton to move into ninth.

100 TACKLE WATCH: Luke Sennett and Mason Brunner are both in range of 100 tackles. Sennett leads Butler with 89 and Brunner is one behind with 88.

Sennett ranks third in the PFL in tackles and Brunner ranks fourth.
