@Butler_CCTF Posts Strong Performances at Alex Wilson Invitational

First place finishes and a new Butler school record highlighted the Bulldogs time in South Bend on Saturday. Senior Allie Vogeler led the charge for Butler, taking first in the 200 meters and setting a new Butler school record.

Vogeler finished with a time of 24.96 to take the top spot, breaking the previous Butler record of 25.56. The senior finished ahead of BYU's Ellie Quackenbush who came in second with a time of 25.04. Ayiana Gaines of Western Michigan came in third at 25.11.

In the 800 meters, Johnny Leverenz finished in 1:49.87 to take sixth overall. His time was just off his own Butler school record of 1:49.66. Teammates Chandler McGaha and Eric Baugh finished 19th and 20th in the 800 meters, respectively. McGaha finished in 1:54.15 while Baugh took first in section four, finishing in 1:54.32.

Sophomore Jacob Uhl continued his success in the 400 meters, finishing second in section three with a time of 48.87 which was good for ninth overall. Teammate Connor Fuller also competed in the 400 meters, finishing 18th with a time of 50.77, a personal best. Ohio State's Tyler Johnson won the race with a time of 46.93.

The Bulldog men and women both had a good showing in the mile, with Mia Beckham running a personal best 5:00.43 to take second in section two. Beckham took 13th overall. Michigan's Audrey Belf took the top spot in 4:48.09.

Freshman Clark Otte won section two of the men's mile, finishing with a time of 4:16.59 which put him at ninth overall. Wuoi Mach, running unattached, finished first in a time of 4:03.77.

Camille Hines and Angelina Ellis both had a strong showing in the 800 meters, with Hines finishing in 2:12.31 to take 16th overall. Ellis ran a personal best 2:13.38 to finish 20th. Western Michigan's Sarah Anderson ran a time of 2:05.74 to finish first.

Jake Bowers took on the 200 meters, finishing in 23.23 to take ninth. Trevian Jenkins of Alabama Huntsville took the spot in 21.52.

The Bulldogs are back in action next weekend, making the trip to Geneva, Ohio to compete in the 2019 BIG EAST Indoor Championships.
