The Bulldogs notched their first home win of 2019 Saturday morning, topping Milwaukee 6-1. Butler grabbed wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles and five out of six singles matches.
Sarah Monesmith and
Lauryn Padgett got the Bulldogs going at No. 2 doubles, defeating Nicole Clarke and Nikki Milner 6-4.
Caroline McAuley and
Kendal Wilby clinched the doubles point in the No. 3 spot, topping Anna Daniel Fuentes and Lucy Harper 6-3.
Emily Neal was successful in the No. 1 singles spot, beating Milwaukee's Alex Bell 7-5, 7-5. Monesmith also defeated her opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
Nina Bertino notched the third straight set victory for the Bulldogs in the No. 5 spot, 6-3, 6-1.
In the No. 4 spot,
Sara Linn came from behind to defeat Nikki Milner 5-7, 6-0, 6-3.
Caroline McAuley also posted a hard-fought win, defeating Anna Daniel Fuentes 6-3. 4-6, 10-2.
The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow, Feb. 3, traveling to Bloomington to take on the Hoosiers at 5 p.m.
