The Bulldogs wrapped up their Spring Break trip Friday afternoon, falling to Furman 13-2. With the win, Furman moves to 3-5. Butler falls to 3-6 on the season.
The Paladins opened the first half with a 4-0 run with Sophie Brennan leading the way with two goals.
KK Callaghan spoiled the run with her fourth goal of the season with nine minutes to go in the first half. From there, Furman scored two more to take a 6-1 lead into the break.
Furman's Hannah Demis scored the first goal of the half but it was quickly answered by
Ashley Guerra, who notched her 21
st goal of the season. Furman ended the game on a 6-0 run to take the 13-2 victory.
Demis led the Paladins with four goals. Grace Pollak and Brennan both added three. Courtney Baker (3-5) received the win in goal, making 11 saves.
Amanda Rumsey (3-5) received the loss in goal, making six saves.
Katie McGrath entered the game with 6:34 left to play and allowed one goal and made one save.
Butler returns to action on March 24, traveling to Nashville, Tenn. to take on Vanderbilt at 2 p.m.
