The Bulldogs fell on the road Sunday afternoon, taking a 19-2 setback at Vanderbilt. With the win, Vanderbilt moves to 8-2 on the year. Butler falls to 3-7.
Vanderbilt used a 14-goal first half to take a commanding lead for the Bulldogs, following it up with goals in the second half to take the win. Butler scored one goal in each half.
Ashley Guerra scored Butler's first goal and
Lindsey Schreiber had the Bulldog's goal in the second half.
Amanda Rumsey started in the cage, making four saves and allowing 11 goals. Freshman
Katie McGrath entered the game with ten minutes to play in the first half, finishing the game out and making five saves.
Vanderbilt was led by Sophie Furlong with three goals and one assist. Gabrielle Fornia added a game-high four assists. Lily Argyle received the win in goal, making two assists.
The Bulldogs return to the field on March 30, hosting the Georgetown Hoyas at Noon.
