Butler improved to 9-8 on Saturday afternoon, defeating Hanover, 7-0. The Bulldogs were led by strong doubles play in the No. 2 and 3 spot, and six straight set singles victories.
Lauryn Padgett and
Nina Bertino were the first successful pair of the match, taking down Cami Jones and Haley Parker 6-1 in the No. 2 spot.
Kendal Wilby and
Caroline McAuley followed it up with a win in the No. 3 spot, 6-2, against Lizzy Katzenberger and Ruth Gaston.
McAuley followed up her doubles win with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Gaston at the No. 4 singles court.
Sara Linn then took down Meghan Farrell 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 2 spot.
Nina Bertino clinched the match at the No. 3 court with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Susie Winternheimer.
Emily Neal saw success at the No. 1 court, defeating Jones 6-3, 6-2.
Lauren Marx posted a convincing win over Addison Laker in No. 5 singles, with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Carla O'Byrne sealed the shutout with a 6-0, 6-4 win in the No. 6 spot.
The Bulldogs return to the court tomorrow for another road match, battling IU-Southeast at 3 p.m.
