About Butler
The Bulldogs are 11-7 after winning a weekend series against Western Michigan. The two teams split a Saturday doubleheader at Grand Park in Westfield Ind., but the Bulldogs would win the series with a 7-4 decision in the true home opener on Sunday on their home field.

Butler has outscored the opposition 142-64 this season and will look to continue to provide BU arms with run support in their upcoming games. Sophomore left-hander Joe Graziano will throw on Tuesday against Eastern Illinois, but Wednesday's starter is still up in the air. Graziano is 0-1 this season with a 3.38 ERA. Tuesday will mark his third start of the season.

Scouting Eastern Illinois
The Panthers are 7-11 under fourth-year head coach Jason Anderson. At the plate, senior Jimmy Govern is batting .316 on the season with a team-high 25 hits and 20 runs. He is followed by catcher Ryan Knernschield, who provides the power for this Panther team. The junior is hitting .354 on the young season with a team leading four home runs and 16 RBI.

On the bump, Butler could face off against Foster Anschutz, a junior left hander for the Panthers. Anshutz has posted a 3.48 ERA in 10.1 innings pitched this far for EIU. He holds a 2-0 record in his mid-week starts.

Scouting Eastern Michigan
Despite their record (3-16-1), the EMU Eagles have posted a number of impressive victories through the first month of the season. The Eagles have notched wins against Dayton and Notre Dame so far and look to add a few more before the start of the conference season.

The Eagle offense is led by redshirt-sophomore Jeff Timko who has been on fire through the first 20 games of the '19 campaign. The outfielder is leading the team with a .377 batting average to go along with three home-runs and 10 runs batted in.  Junior Zach Owings is also having a solid start to 2019, posting a .317 average with a team-high 11 RBI. First-year head coach Eric Roof is 2-0 with the Eagles during midweek games thus far in the season.

Schedule Change
Tuesday's game was originally scheduled to be played at Eastern Illinois, however unplayable field conditions forced the game to be moved to Bulldog Park. In return, the game scheduled between these two teams on May 14 will be moved to Eastern Illinois.

Last Week
Butler went 3-2 last week to move their overall record to 11-7. Robbie McCargar led BU with a .455 batting average, collecting five hits in just 11 at-bats. Three of his five hits went for extra bases, giving him a .909 slugging percentage. McCargar hit two doubles and one home run.

Zach Jarosz and Harrison Freed also saw the ball well for BU during Spring Break. Jarosz hit .350 and Freed was close behind at .333. Freed added a homer, a tripe and six runs scored.

The top performance on the mound went to senior Sam Hubbe. He helped Butler shutout Western Michigan on Saturday in game two of a doubleheader at Grand Park. Hubbe went seven full frames and struck out eight, while only walking one. He got the win by limiting the Broncos to just two hits.
