NEW YORK – Connor Schultz has been named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for his outstanding performance at Valparaiso on Sunday afternoon. The sophomore earns the honor for the first time in his BU career. He is now 4-0 on the mound this season with a 1.49 ERA. Teammate

Connor Schultz posted a two-hit, 8.0-inning outing against Valparaiso on Sunday, giving the Bulldogs a series victory with a 9-2 win. Schultz struck out seven and assisted on two additional outs. He walked just one and allowed no runs to score in 93 pitches.
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Christian Del Castillo, Seton Hall, Jr., OH (Miami, Fla.)
Seton Hall junior outfielder Christian Del Castillo led the league last week in batting (.600), runs (6) and RBI (9) as he helped the Pirates to a 3-0 week with two wins over Wagner (11-7, 10-0) and a 12-2 win over Monmouth. Del Castillo went 9-for-15 with a 1.133 slugging percentage which included two doubles and two home runs. The junior also crossed the plate two times per game. All three of his games were multiple hit outings. On Friday against Wagner, he went 3-for-5 with a career-high five RBI, which included a homer and two doubles. He also added two stolen bases and walked once. His on-base percentage was .625 for the week.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Harrison Freed, Butler, Jr., OF
Freed batted .579 (11-for-19) in a 2-2 week for the Bulldogs. He scored three runs. He had multiple hits in each of the four games. In the series finale against Valparaiso, Freed went 3-for-6 with four RBI and a run scored.
Jake Holton, Creighton, Jr., DH
Holton, Creighton's designated hitter, led the Bluejays to a three-game road sweep of Maryland, hitting .500 (5-for-10) with a team-best three RBI. He reached base eight of the 14 times he came to plate with five hits, one walk and getting hit three times. He delivered a two-run homer in Sunday's 8-6 victory.
Mike Antico, St. John's, Jr. OF
Antico went 5-for-9 (.556) in a 3-0 week for the Red Storm. He crossed the plate five times while batting in four runs and walked three times. Antico also went 2-for-2 on stolen bases. He led off SJU's abbreviated series against Hofstra with a career-best 4-for-4, three-RBI showing as the Red Storm won 9-1 over the Pride.
Ricky DeVito, Seton Hall, Jr., RHP
DeVito went 7.0 innings against Wagner as the Pirates shutout the Seahawks, 10-0. He scattered three hits and struck out three and lowered his season ERA to 1.12. DeVito also walked three.
Conor Grammes, Xavier, Jr.,DH
Grammes went 6-for-11 (.545) at the plate in a 2-2 week for the Musketeers, scoring six runs and collecting three RBI, while walking give times. Grammes had two doubles and a home run to mark a 1.000 slugging percentage.
