Butler picked up an exciting 4-3 win over BIG EAST rival Providence Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis. The Bulldogs took four singles matches to post the win.

The win levels Butler's record at 11-11.

In a sign of how tightly-contested things would be all day, Providence squeaked out the doubles point after the teams split courts 2 and 3. On the No. 1 court, PC's Risa Takenaka and Aidan Epstein were able to stave off a match point earlier in the set before taking a tiebreaker for the win and the doubles point.

The Bulldogs turned the tide in singles play, taking the first three matches to finish as Sara Linn (No. 2), Nina Bertino (No. 3), and Caroline McAuley (No. 4) each posted straight-set wins. After Takenaka won at No. 1 singles for the Friars, Butler's Lauren Marx sealed the team win for the Bulldogs with a 6-4, 7-6 (2) win over PC's Sera Satkowski at No. 5 singles.

Butler's remaining regular season contests are both BIG EAST match-ups, beginning with a Sunday contest against Marquette at the Butler Bubble in Indianapolis. First serve is set for noon.
