The Bulldogs look to tally another win on Wednesday, hosting Louisville at 1 p.m. The game will be played at Varsity Field and will stream live on the Butler Bulldog Facebook page. Free Chick-Fil-A will be available for the first 100 students in attendance.
Butler (2-3) put another in the win column on Friday, taking down St. Bonaventure, 10-8. With the win, the Bulldogs have tallied the most wins in program history.
A four-goal effort from
Karina Latsko was the driving force for the Bulldogs, along with two assists and a goal from
Ashley Guerra.
KK Callaghan also notched a goal and an assist. In the cage,Â
Amanda Rumsey made nine saves to earn her second win of the season. Latsko earned BIG EAST Attacker of the Week and Rumsey earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for their performances.
Guerra and Latsko are the driving forces behind the Bulldog attack so far in 2019. Guerra has tallied 21 points off of 13 goals and eight assists. Latsko isn't far behind with 15 points from 12 goals and three assists.Â
On the defensive end, senior captain
Carly Hewitt has been solid, causing a team-high 11 turnovers and picking up 20 ground balls, also a team-high.
Amanda Rumsey (2-3) has seen 257 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs, making 43 saves with a .422 save percentage.
Scouting Louisville
The Cardinals (1-5) are coming off a 16-4 loss to No. 19 Notre Dame on Saturday in their first ACC contest of the season. Alex McNicholas finished with a goal on two shots, three ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control. Ally Hall had the lone assist for the Cardinals.
Rachel Florek (1-4) has seen the majority of time in goal for Louisville, making 36 saves with a 11.88 goals-against average. Offensively, Shayla Scanlan and Tessa Chad lead the cardinals. Scanlan has tallied 11 goals and three assists, while Chad has 12 goals and one helper. Caroline Blalock adds a team-high six assists as well as nine goals.
A season ago, Louisville finished 6-11 overall with an 0-8 conference mark. The Cardinals beat Butler 20-4 in Indianapolis.
