Ninth-Seeded @ButlerWTennis to Open BIG EAST Tournament with Eighth-Seeded Georgetown Thursday

Butler will open the 2019 BIG EAST Tournament Thursday with a match-up against eighth-seeded Georgetown. The championships run Thursday through Sunday in Cayce, S.C.
 
The BIG EAST Tennis Championship Committee pegged the Bulldogs with the No. 9 seed. The winner of Thursday's first round match will advance to Friday's quarterfinals and a match-up against top-seeded Xavier.
 
Butler is 11-13 overall at this point in the 2019 season. That includes a 5-2 loss to Georgetown Jan. 25 in an indoor neutral site match played in Griffith, Ind. Nina Bertino and Caroline McAuley won matches at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions, respectively, in that match.
