2019 College All-Americans
INDIANAPOLIS – Perfect Game and Rawlings came together to select 2019 College All-American teams on Wednesday afternoon and Butler outfielder
Harrison Freed was named to the second team. The 13th Round MLB Draft pick went to the San Francisco Giants earlier this month after leading the BIG EAST Conference in hits (82), home runs (17), RBI (73), slugging percentage (.683), and total bases (149).
Freed was one of three outfielders to make the second team joining Matt Wallner of Southern Miss and Jack Mangum of Mississippi State. First team honorees were JJ Bleday (Vanderbilt), Hunter Bishop (Arizona State), and Jack Sanford (Western Kentucky).
Freed posted monster numbers at the plate for BU during his junior season and was also a steady glove in right field. He had 26 multi-hit games and posted more than one RBI in 16 contests.
The only Bulldog to start in all 52 games, Freed held a .376 average by collecting 82 hits in 218 at-bats. The slugger ended the 2019 campaign with 10 doubles, three triples and 17 home runs which resulted in 73 RBI. He scored 44 runs and posted 149 total bases.
