Freed Earns More Postseason Honors after 2019 Campaign

NCBWA All-America Full Release | ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Full Release

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler outfielder Harrison Freed earned two more postseason honors this week. The junior slugger was named NCBWA Second Team All-America as well as ABCA/Rawlings Second Team All-Region.

Freed proved to be one of the best bats in the BIG EAST Conference by batting .376 in 2019 with a .683 slugging percentage and a .448 on-base percentage. He set the single-season Butler school record with 82 hits and was just one RBI shy of tying the school single-season RBI record of 74.

The BU rightfielder recorded 10 doubles, three triples and a team-best 17 home runs. He reached seven RBI in a single game two different times in 2019. Freed hit for the cycle against Saint Peter's to reach 7 RBI on March 1. He matched that effort on April 6 in a game against St. John's by hitting two home runs against the Johnnies in a BU win. Freed hit a grand slam in the contest and returned to the plate for a three-run home run to seal the victory.
