INDIANAPOLIS – The Bulldogs will compete in the 2019 Hampton Inn Bowling Green Invitational over the weekend. The Falcons will host Butler, Cleveland State and Charlotte for the two-day tournament.
BULLDOG BITS
- Butler ranks second in the BIG EAST in blocks per set (2.36).
- BU ranks second in the conference in service aces, averaging 1.45 per set.

Megan Ramseyer's 62 assists in the five-set match vs. Auburn were the most of any BIG EAST setter over opening weekend.
- Butler posted conference-high totals in kills (76) assists (70) and digs (85) in their match at Auburn.

Megan Sheridan hit .455 vs. Auburn with 17 kills on 33 swings and just two errors.

Sharon Clark has recorded 319 wins at Butler over 19 seasons. She is the all-time wins leader in program history.

Anna Logan has recorded 1,234 career kills. She needs 86 more to enter the BU all-time top-ten list.
- Logan is just 36 digs away from 1,000.
- Butler's full roster breakdown includes five seniors, two juniors, four sophomores and four freshmen.
- BU has players from Indiana (9), Illinois (2), Texas (1), Tennessee (1), Missouri (1), and Idaho (1).

SCOUTING CLEVELAND STATE: Cleveland State is led by head coach Chuck Voss, who enters his 20th season as head coach of the Vikings. CSU played games against No. 12 Pittsburgh, South Carolina, and Cincinnati over opening weekend at the Panther Challenge. The Vikings lost in straight sets to both Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, and were hit with a 3-2 setback against South Carolina.
The offense ran through Trinniti Hall and Christina Grecol in Pittsburgh. Hall led the team with 33 kills and Grecol set the table with a team-best 91 assists. Defensively, Lindsey Tout was the team leader with 40 digs and Hannah Green made plays at the net with 13 blocks.
Butler leads the all-time series over Cleveland State 26-14. The Vikings won the last meeting in 2018 3-2. Butler's last win over CSU came during the 2011 season 3-0.
SCOUTING BOWLING GREEN: Bowling Green is led by head coach Danijela Tomic, who enters her seventh year at the helm of the program. The Falcons opened the 2019 season at the Golden Dome Invitational, posting a win over Wright State (3-1), but falling to both La Salle (2-3) and Notre Dame (1-3).
The Falcons were led by sophomore outside hitter Katelyn Meyer who had 41 kills over the weekend. Senior Isabelle Marcinak set her up with a team-best 109 assists. The defense was led by sophomore libero Julia Walz with 78 digs, and Katie Kidwell with 15 blocks.
Butler is 1-0 all-time against Bowling Green. The Bulldogs defeated the Falcons 3-0 in the third match of the 1996 Butler Classic.
SCOUTING CHARLOTTE: Charlotte is led by head coach Karen Weatherington, who enters her fifth season. The 49ers started the season 3-0 with wins over Gardner-Webb, Kent State, and Eastern Kentucky. The team was led offensively by Sydney Rowan and Tyra Galloway who had 38 kills each. Weatherington used two setters over opening weekend. Mackenzie Reaume and Annika Wetterstrom combined for 117 assists over three games. The duo got the job done as Charlotte hit .244 against the opposition.
On the defensive side, senior Yumi Garcia led the team with 82 digs over the weekend. Jocelyn Stoner and Tyra Galloway dominated the net by combining for 34 blocks.
Butler is 1-0 all-time against Charlotte. Their lone win came in 2012 with each team playing as a member of the A-10. BU won on the road 3-1.
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM: Anna Logan and
Megan Sheridan made the War Eagle Invitational All-Tournament Team. Logan led all BU players with 37 kills and five service aces. Sheridan ranked second on the team with 30 kills.
BIG EAST WEEKLY HONOR ROLL: Logan averaged 4.14 points, 3.36 kills, 2.45 digs per set while earning the All-Tournament Team nod at the War Eagle Invitational. The senior outside hitter recorded a double-double with 18 kills and 16 digs to go along with three block and two service aces in a five-set thriller against Auburn.
BROOKE BACK IN THE MIDDLE: Senior
Brooke Gregory impacted matches for BU over opening weekend by recording 26 kills and a team-best 15 blocks.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE TALK: Megan Ramseyer posted the first double-double of the season for BU with 31 assists and 11 digs vs. Tennessee State. She was also one of three players to notch a double-double vs. Auburn. Ramseyer had 62 assists and 13 digs,
Anna Logan had 18 kills and 16 digs and newcomer
Brittany Robinson posted 14 kills and 14 digs vs. the Tigers.
UP NEXT: Butler will compete in the 2019 Panther Invitational next weekend. Milwaukee will host BU, Western Michigan and Southeast Missouri State. The schedule features Butler playing two games on Friday and a single-match vs. SEMO on Saturday.
Friday's 10 AM start vs. Western Michigan will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The Panthers hold a 30-13 lead over BU in the all-time series, but the 'Dawgs lead the all-time series over SEMO 4-2.
