The Bulldogs (4-2) picked up two road wins on the road, defeating Dayton and Wright State by scores of 4-3 on Sunday, Jan. 26 in Dayton, Ohio.
 
Butler started the day off right, sweeping the doubles section against Dayton. The team of Emily Neal/Kendal Wilby and Logan White/Sara Linn picked up 6-3 wins in the No. 3 and No. 2 flights, respectively. In the No. 1 flight, Sarah Monesmith/Lauryn Padgett led 5-4 when the doubles point was clinched.
 
White then picked up the first singles win of the match, taking the top flight in straight sets (6-1, 6-3), putting Butler up 2-0. Monesmith (No. 6) and Padgett (No. 2) each fell individually, evening the field with Dayton. Neal started strong in the No. 3 flight, but ultimately dropped the three-set match, giving the Flyers a 3-2 edge with two matches remaining.
 
Linn kept the Bulldogs alive in the No. 5 flight, claiming a 6-1, 6-4 win to tie the match. Nina Bertino held her own in the No. 4 spot, fending off a three-set match with straight set scores of 6-3, 7-6 (8) to give Butler the win.
 
Later, against Wright State, Neal/Wilby won the No. 3 flight (6-3), before Padgett/Monesmith and White/Linn fell 3-6 and 4-6 in the top flights, respectively.
 
The Bulldogs went down 2-0 as Padgett fell in straight sets in the No. 2 flight, but White (6-1, 6-2) and Linn (6-0, 6-0) came up with decisive victories in the No. 1 and No. 5 flights to tie the match 2-2. 
 
Wright State won the No. 3 flight, putting Butler in a must win situation- which they did. Bertino came through with a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the fourth set, while Hallie Leblebijian, making her first appearance of the day, battled to a 6-4, 7-5 win to take the match.
 
Butler moves to 4-2 after the road swing, and will return to the court in Indianapolis this Friday (Jan. 31) against University of Indianapolis at 3 p.m.  The Bulldogs will then host Western Michigan on Saturday (Feb. 1) at 1 p.m.
