@ButlerAthletics Posts 92 Percent NCAA Graduate Success Rate

Butler student-athletes posted a 92-percent Graduate Success Rate in the most recent annual report released by the NCAA this week. This is Butler's highest GSR since the creation of the metric nearly two decades ago.

The 92-percent GSR is based upon the cohort of Butler student-athletes who entered college in 2013.

The student-athlete graduation rate is calculated directly based on IPEDS-GRS (which is the methodology the U.S. Department of Education requires). It is the proportion of first-year, full-time student-athletes who entered a school on athletics aid and graduated from that institution within six years. The NCAA GSR differs from the federal calculation in two important ways. First, the GSR holds colleges accountable for those student-athletes who transfer into their school. Second, the GSR does not penalize colleges whose student-athletes transfer in good academic standing.
