Butler Softball has announced the signing of four standouts to national letters of intent. Ella White, Sydney Carter, Ellie Boyer and Kayla Noerr will join the program beginning with the 2021-22 academic year.

They bring great enthusiasm, talent and a competitive drive that will continue to push our program forward. Most of all, they are great people and will be exceptional teammates!"

Ella White, SS/3B, R/R, Noblesville, Ind. / Noblesville HS

As a sophomore in 2019, White hit .506 with 14 home runs and 40 RBI. She hit .466 with 10 home runs as a freshman for Noblesville High School. She was a 2019 All-State second-team selection after earning honorable mention honors in 2018. She earned all-conference honors both seasons. White is ranked as the sixth-best prospect in the state by the Indianapolis Star and earned a spot on the All-USA Indianapolis Area Softball Super Team.

White led Noblesville to a top-four finish on the state level in 2018, winning sectional and regional championships along the way. She plays with the Shockwaves, which finished third at the ASA A Nationals in 2018. White will graduate with an honors diploma from Noblesville.

Coach Hall on White: "Ella is a pure athlete. She is extremely dedicated in the weight room and it shows on the field. Her power at the plate is going to translate well in the BIG EAST. She is a great competitor with a high softball IQ. She will add a lot of depth and talent to our infield. I'm happy to keep this local talent so close to home!"

Sydney Carter, SS, L/R, Mason, Ohio / Mason HS

As a sophomore in 2019, Carter batted .576 with 40 RBI and 29 stolen bases for Mason High School in Ohio. She is ranked as the No. 76 prospect in the class by Extra Innings and was recognized as a USA Elite Top 30 selection. Her list of honors includes All-State, All-Conference and All-District accolades. She owns the Mason High School records for single-season hits and batting average. As a freshman in 2018, she hit .593. Her team has posted a record of 49-8 during his high school career despite the 2020 season being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

She plays with the Ohio Hawks National club team, which has posted solid finishes at both the PGF and TCS US Nationals. Carter also plays basketball for Mason High School and has earned the Principal's Award for a 4.0 GPA.

Coach Hall on Carter: "It seems like Syd started coming to our camps in the fifth grade. I was so happy to extend an offer to her. She has always wanted to be a Bulldog. She is a very versatile player that we can plug in to a lot of positions. She is a triple threat at the plate, who can use her speed or power to keep the defense on their toes. Syd comes from a softball family and has been coached really well. Proud to call her a Dawg!

Ellie Boyer, SS/UT, Kokomo, Ind. / Northwestern HS

As a sophomore in 2019, Boyer hit .471 for Northwestern High School, one season after hitting .459 as a freshman. Her junior season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She owns school records for single-season batting average and doubles. She is a three-year captain and two-year all-conference honoree.

Boyer is a three-sport standout at Northwestern, leading the school to back-to-back 3A basketball state championships. She also plays varsity soccer. She plays for the Indiana Gators Kissee club program. Boyer is a National Honor Society student.

Coach Hall on Boyer: "Ellie is another local talent who found her way to camps at an early age and continued to impress us. She is a multi-sport standout at her high school, and just knows how to compete and win! Ellie brings a quiet calm and a focused approached to all she does. She is a true utility player who will add talent and depth to our lineup. The Dawgs' future got better when she committed!"

Kayla Noerr, P, Chardon, Ohio / Chardon HS
Â
Noerr led Chardon High School to a district championship, earning first-team all-conference and Offensive Player of the Year honors. She has registered 17 strikeouts in a game. Noerr is also an all-conference basketball standout for Chardon and entered her senior year ranked first academically in her class.

Noerr plays for the Thunder Elite Premier club team.

Coach Hall on Noerr: "Kayla is going to be joining one of the best pitching staffs in the BIG EAST. She is a talented pitcher who will only continue to get stronger. She is driven to improve in all she does on and off the field. She is a two-sport athlete who understands how to win and wants to get better every practice. We are excited to have her join the pen!"
