The Butler women's lacrosse team will take their 2-0, BIG EAST-leading record on road to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to face the Central Michigan Chippewas (0-1) on Sunday, Feb. 23. Game time is set for 12 p.m. at the Central Michigan Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.

Bulldogs Recap
Butler took down Detroit Mercy, 19-4, on Thursday, Feb. 20 at Varsity Field. The Bulldogs got off to a hot start, netting 12 goals in the first half to UDM's 2, effectively starting the running clock throughout the remainder of the game. 10 different Bulldogs scored in the contest, as
Ashley Guerra led the Bulldogs with five goals.
Lindsey Schreiber added four of goals, making this her second consecutive game of three or more goals. Gabreyelle Bodine and freshman
Campbell Connors both had two goals and two assists in the win.
Central Michigan Chippewas
The Chippewas went 7-11 overall and 2-3 in the Southern Conference in 2019. Central Michigan advanced to the SOCON Tournament, but fell in the first round to Mercer, 13-9. The Chippewas are 0-1 to start the season, coming off a 24-4 loss to (former) No. 7 Notre Dame, who has since moved up to No. 2 in the IWLCA coaches poll rankings.
BIG EAST Standings
The Bulldogs are tied with No.10 Denver (2-0) for first in the BIG EAST. This is the first time in program history that Butler has been 2-0 to start the season and topped the conference standings.
Familiar Foes
Sunday's contest will be the fourth meeting between the two teams. The Bulldogs and Chippewas have faced-off in all three seasons of the Bulldogs program history. CMU has come away with the win each time, most recently on Feb. 24 2019, when the Chippewas earned a 16-6 win.
The Bulldogs and Chippewas will face six of the same teams this season in No. 2 Notre Dame, Detroit Mercy, Marquette, Kent State, Presbyterian, and Akron. Central Michigan is the second of two SOCON teams the Bulldogs will face this season. Detroit Mercy was the first.
Controlling the Game
Elizabeth Davide picked up a career-high 10 ball controls in the 19-4 win over Detroit Mercy. As a team, the Titans combined to grab 10 compared to the Bulldog's 15. Butler is currently out-controlling teams 33 to 14.

Butler will continue their three-game road swing, facing Kent State (Feb. 28) and Akron (March 1) next weekend.
