The Butler women's lacrosse team will travel to Ohio to face Kent State (0-3) and Akron (0-4) over the weekend. The Bulldogs will take on the Golden Flashes will meet Friday at 3 p.m. and face the Zips on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Bulldog Bits                                                                                                               Â
- Attackers Ashley Guerra and Lindsey Schreiber lead the Bulldogs with seven goals apiece.
- Elizabeth Davide collected a career-high 10 draw controls against Detroit Mercy.
- 10 different Bulldogs scored in the 19-4 win over UDM; Guerra led the team with five.
- The Bulldogs set the single-game scoring record while securing a 22-0 win in the season opener against Hanover.
- The win over the Panthers was also the Bulldogs first shutout and the first season opener win in program history.
- 16 Bulldogs scored in the first win of the season- Schreiber and Gabryelle Bodine, recorded hat tricks
- Following her hat trick against Hanover, Bodine got a conference nod as she was named to the BIG EAST Athlete of the Week Honor Roll
- In 2019, the Bulldogs led the BIG EAST in saves per game and were third in the conference in caused turnovers

Bulldogs Recap                                                                                                     Â
The Bulldogs are off to a 2-1 start after opening the season with a single-game scoring record shutout win over Hanover, 22-0. Butler went 1-1 on the week, taking down Detroit Mercy 19-4 and falling at Central Michigan 14-2. The win over the Titans was the first time the Bulldogs have bested Detroit Mercy in program history.
Lindsey Schreiber recorded her second hat trick of the season against the Titans.
Ashley Guerra posted six goals on the week, five of which came in Thursday's win, earning her a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll.

Kent State Golden Flashes                                                                                     Â
The Golden Flashes enter their second year of the women's lacrosse program, posting a 2-15 record in the 2019 inaugural season. Kent State returns 2019 assist and point leader in Abby Jones, who had 20 assists and 32 goals for 52 total points. She currently leads the team in goals (8) and points (10), adding two assists.

Akron Zips                                                                                                               Â
Akron Zips are 0-4 heading into Sunday's match-up with the Bulldogs. Three of those loses are to teams ahead on the Bulldogs schedule (Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, and Robert Morris). The Zips roster is made up of 24 freshmen, one sophomore, and one junior. Abby Dennison, the sole upperclassman, leads the team in goals (8) and points (10).

New Rivalries                                                                                             Â
Following Sunday's match-up with the Zips, the Bulldogs will have faced both Kent State and Akron in their program-opening seasons. This will be the second consecutive season the Bulldogs and Golden Flashes have faced-off. The two young programs clashed last season with Butler taking the 13-10 win.
Sydney Pattison, Guerra, and
Haley Hallenbeck all recorded hat tricks in the win, while Schreiber,
Ashley Steffes,
Karina Latsko and
KK Callaghan each added a goal.

Controlling the Game                                                                            Â
Elizabeth Davide picked up a career-high 10 ball controls in the 19-4 win over Detroit Mercy. As a team, the Titans combined to grab 10 compared to the Bulldog's 15. Butler is currently out-controlling teams 41 to 24.

After the two-game weekend in Ohio, the Bulldogs return to Varsity Field to host Presbyterian on Sunday, March 7. Game time is set for 12 p.m.
