Butler senior
Kamar Baldwin added to his week of recognitions Tuesday as he was named All-District by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA). Baldwin was one of the players honored from District Five.
The All-District Teams are based on voting from its national membership of 900-plus. The USBWA has selected All-District teams since the 1956-57 season, its founding year.
For each of the nine geographic districts, ten players are selected as well as a player and coach of the year.
District Five is made up of all universities from Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Earlier this week, Baldwin was selected to the All-BIG EAST First Team by the conference's head coaches.
In 18 BIG EAST games, Baldwin averaged 17.9 points per contest, which is third in the conference. He also ranks in the top 15 in assists, steals, and free throw percentage in conference games. So far this season in all games, Baldwin is averaging 16.2 points per game to go along with 3.3 assists.
Â
Baldwin has led the Bulldogs to a 22-9 record leading into this week's BIG EAST Tournament in New York City. Now with 1,956 career points, Baldwin has moved into fourth in Butler program history.

Dayton's Obi Toppin and Anthony Grant were named District Five Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively, by the USBWA.
