ORLANDO – The UCF Knights shutout Butler 4-0 in game two of their weekend series. Trevor Holloway limited the 'Dawgs to just three hits to earn his third win on the mound.
Holloway was dominate on Saturday, striking out 10 over 6.2 innings and only walking two. Saltonstall recorded the final out of the seventh and Litchfield would toss the final two innings.
BU hits belonged to
Duncan Hewitt,
Maison Stites and
Andy Bennett.
Jack Myers wore the loss on the mound, but he struck out nine over 7.2 innings without allowing a walk.
UCF broke up a scoreless game in the fifth on a two-RBI double to right from McCabe. An insurance run came around in the sixth as Rathbone doubled to left to score Pena. The final run of the ball game crossed home plate in the eighth off a single from Allen.
These two teams will go at it again tomorrow at 1 PM.
