INDIANAPOLIS -- Junior college transfer Annilia Dawn will spend the final two seasons of her collegiate career at Butler. Dawn is a 5-5 guard from Amarillo, Texas. She averaged 12.3 points per game at Kilgore College last season.
Â
"I want to welcome Annilia to the Bulldog family," head coach
Kurt Godlevske stated. "She will bring us some much needed toughness on the floor. I love her tenacity, her willingness to sacrifice for her teammates, and her overall desire to win. I look forward to coaching and helping her grow as a person."
Â
Dawn was a standout student-athlete at Amarillo High School under the guidance of head coach Jeff Williams. During her four year career, the Sandies went 137-10 on their way to winning four conference championships and one state title. They reached 23 wins her freshman season, 37 in both her sophomore and junior campaigns and 40 in her senior season. Dawn was a two-year starter at Amarillo and a four-year letter-winner. She capped off her high school career with the state championship.
Â
"I chose Butler because it felt like home away from home," Dawn explained. "The coaches chose me almost instantly. They never once doubted me, and voiced how much success they believe I can achieve in the upcoming years."
Â
Dawn attended Midland College initially, but spent 2019-20 at Kilgore College averaging 12.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
