INDIANAPOLIS – Butler and Georgetown will play a 2 PM contest at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Wednesday afternoon. These two programs met in Washington, D.C. on New Year's Eve with the home team coming out on top. The Bulldogs will look to even the season series and stay ahead in the all-time series by claiming their first win of the 2020-21 campaign.
Bulldog Bits

Scouting Georgetown
The COVID-19 pandemic has limited Georgetown to just two games this season. They lost 72-54 to DePaul on Dec. 19, but claimed a win over Butler on New Year's Eve. Yasmin Ott and Kelsey Ransom are leading scorers on the Georgetown squad. The freshmen duo accounted for 21 points in the first meeting vs. Butler. Ott never left the floor in the Butler matchup to play a full 40 minutes. Ransom was right behind her playing nearly 37 minutes in the first meeting. Graceann Bennett and Jillian Archer were also impact performers for head coach James Howard against Butler. Archer had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Bennett went for 10 points, four boards and two blocks. Ott kicked off her collegiate career in fashion with 18 points in her Hoya debut vs. DePaul. Ransom was in the box score with 14 points and four steals.
All-Time Series vs. Georgetown
Butler swept Georgetown last year to move ahead of the Hoyas in the all-time series, but the two programs are separated by just one game overall (8-7). The 'Dawgs pulled out a one-point win at McDonough Arena last year (47-46) but lost this year's tilt 56-45. The last game at Hinkle Fieldhouse ended with Butler on top 60-42.
Last Meeting vs. Georgetown
Butler was limited to just seven active players at Georgetown in a contest that ended with the Hoyas claiming a 56-45 victory. All seven BU players hit a 3-pointer in the first half to give the Bulldogs a 35-31 advantage at the break. Georgetown outscored Butler 25-10 over the final 20 minutes to secure their first win of the 2020-21 campaign.
Best off The Bench
Freshman Jazmyn Harmon logs 22 minutes of playing time off the bench for the Hoyas. She scored eight points in her collegiate debut vs. DePaul and followed that effort with nine points against the Bulldogs. Butler's best bench players this year have been
Ellen Ross and
Nyamer Diew. Ross scored more points in the first six games of this season (23) than she had over her first two years at BU (22). Diew is coming off a career-high 11 point game vs. Seton Hall.
Hustle Points
Jillian Archer collected six of Georgetown's 12 offensive rebounds in the first meeting to allow the Hoyas to outscore the Bulldogs 16-0 in second chance points. Georgetown also won points in the paint 22-12.
Last Game
Butler and Seton Hall each shot 25-for-61 from the field on Monday, but the Pirates would come out on top by shooting 18-for-25 from the free throw line. The 15-point Pirate win was highlighted by Andra Espinoza-Hunter and her 23-point performance. All seven of her made field goals came from behind the arc and point guard Lauren Parker-Lane would add 18 points and seven rebounds. Butler had three players hit double figures.
Genesis Parker led all Bulldogs with a season-high 17 points.
Four Games in Seven Days
The contest vs. Georgetown will be Butler's fourth game in just seven days. Butler's first four games of the year were spread out over 27 days.
Adika is Efficient
Okako Adika shoots 47% from the field 41% from 3-point land and 87% from the foul line. She led Butler at Georgetown with 11 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. She most recently posted 12 points and seven rebounds vs. Seton Hall.
Parker Poised for Success
Genesis Parker is averaging 13.0 points per game over her first three starts of the season and has hit two 3-point field goals in every game. The senior is shooting 41 percent from the field and has not had more turnovers than assists in any contest this year.
Floor General
Upe Atosu leads Butler with 16 assists this season, giving her 10 more assists than anyone else on the roster. The talented guard is also the team leader in steals with 11. She tied her career-high with three steals vs. Seton Hall on Monday.
Season-High Totals set vs. Seton Hall
Butler shot 41 percent from the field to score 64 points vs. Seton Hall. It marked the first time this season BU has shot over 40 percent and the first time the 'Dawgs have topped 60 points.
Trending in the Right Direction
Butler only had one player reach a double figure scoring total in four of their first five games. Over the past two games, BU has had three players score 10 or more.
Crash the Glass
Butler has pulled down 12+ offensive rebounds in each of their last three games. 34 rebounds vs. Seton Hall matched their season-high total that was set the game prior at St. John's.
Jaia Alexander leads the team with a 7.0 rebound average. She and
Okako Adika each pulled down seven boards Monday vs. the Pirates.
Adika Improving Defensively
Okako Adika has seven steals over Butler's last four games. She didn't have one steal over the first three contests.
