Student Ticket Lottery Information for Remaining @ButlerMBB games

Due to COVID-19 and health restrictions, Hinkle Fieldhouse will operate with a limited capacity this season. In order to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for students who wish to attend men's basketball games, Butler Athletics will utilize a lottery to determine ticket distribution.

The lottery will be conducted separately for each game.

Seating will be assigned in pods containing two, three or four seats.  All pods will be socially-distanced (min. 6ft) from other pods and masks are required at all times. Members of your pods must be limited to those who in your university "family unit," ie. Your roommates, suitemates, etc.

How to Enter
• Your pod should select one member to complete the lottery entry on behalf of the entire pod.
• Visit ButlerSports.com/StudentLottery
• Select your group size of 2, 3 or 4
• Upon selection, name and email fields will pop up for all members of your desired pod
• Select your campus residence and enter the unit number when prompted.
• Enter the name and Butler.edu email address for all members of your group
• On initial sign-up, you cannot be a part of multiple groups.  Duplicate entries will be deleted.

If your lottery entry is selected, all members of your group will receive a confirmation email and the ticket office staff will put a ticket directly into your accounts for you to download to to your phones.

Tickets are assigned seating and you must sit in your ticketed seat.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far ahead of the game will tickets be released?
It will vary per game, but we anticipate 2-4 days ahead of a game to allow those entering to have the best possible opportunity to know if they are able to attend.

How will I know when the lottery opens?
All eligible students will receive an email from the ticket office.  If you have downloaded the Dawg Pound app, you will also receive a push notification to your phone.

A member of my group can no longer attend.  What do we do?
The ticket may be transferred to another roommate.  In the event that all members of your pod no longer wish to attend, you may return the tickets to the ticket office or transfer them to a new pod.   Please be sure to transfer, as screenshots will not be allowed. Lotteries will be conducted as closely to the game date as possible in order to limit necessary adjustments.

Do I still need to bring my Butler ID?
You should always have your Butler ID when attending games, as security may ask you to produce it any time.  However, upon entry you will be required to show your game ticket and the badge from your completed daily health screening from the date of the game.

Will I be able to select my seat location?
No.   Seats will be assigned based on the size of your pod and the order selected in the lottery process.

Can I bring someone who is not a Butler student?
No.  All users of tickets obtained through the lottery must be Butler students.

Can I be a part of multiple lottery groups?
No.  Students must elect only one lottery group per game.

Are students able to attend more than one game?  For example, if I win the lottery on the first game can I enter again for the second?
Yes! Odds of being selected will vary based upon the number of lottery entries per game.

How do I get my tickets once I have been selected?
You will receive a confirmation email that you have been selected and another letting you know that a ticket has been placed in your account.  Tickets will be available no later than four hours prior to a scheduled tip-off.

How can I increase my odds of winning the ticket lottery?
Members of your group can "purchase" additional lottery entries with points earned by attending other sporting events that take place during January and February (ie. Women's Basketball, Volleyball, etc.)  Those points are earned in the Dawg Pound app, which can be downloaded for free via the itunes and google play stores.   You must use the same email to register for the app as is used on your ticket account (your Butler.edu account) for the additional entries to work.

Will Dawg Pound have priority for the ticket lottery?
No.  Dawg Pound membership was not made available for this academic year.   All students are encouraged to download the Dawg Pound app to earn points and/or prizes for attending games across all our sporting events during the spring semester.  By downloading the app, you can also receive push notifications about lottery availability dates.

What if a member of my group needs an ADA seat?
Once notified of a winning the lottery, reply to that email and alert the ticket office of the need.  Your seats will be assigned accordingly to accommodate.
