The Butler men's soccer team is preparing to host Marquette at the Sellick Bowl on Wednesday, October 20, at 7 pm. The Bulldogs are coming off a 2-1 win over No. 20 Providence, while the Golden Eagles most recently defeated DePaul, 1-0.
 
BULLDOG BITS

  • Gabreil Gjergji ranks 51st nationally and fifth in the BIG EAST in Goals Against Average (.982).
  • Jack Streberger is fourth in the BIG EAST with four assists.
     
  • Previous match: No. 20 Providence (W, 2-1): Henri Kumwenda's goal was the first of his career, and Rico Hollenkamp notched his first career assist. The assist from Wilmer Cabrera, Jr. was his first of the season and the seventh of his career. Goalkeeper Gabriel Gjergji picked up his fifth win of the season, making four saves in the match.
     
  • For their performances in back-to-back victories over Xavier and No. 20 Providence, Butler defender Griffin DeBolt was named BIG EAST Men's Soccer Defender of the Week, and, in addition, Bulldogs goalkeeper Gabriel Gjergji was named Goalkeeper of the Week.
     
  • The Bulldogs currently sit in sixth place in the BIG EAST standings, with five matches remaining. Six teams will make the BIG EAST tournament.
